Shepshed Toy Library commenced operation in 1983 where it hired a room in the Community Centre in Charnwood Road. This was a rather limiting venue as the toys had to be put away in plastic sacks and stored in the attic for the next opening day. The Library moved to Hind Leys Community College, Forest Street, Shepshed in 1993 and has been located there ever since.

In this the 21st century Shepshed Toy Library will meet the needs of local people by having quality toys for all children whatever their needs. There are good disabled facilities and we also have baby changing facilities. We are a registered charity (Number 701701).

Volunteers are always welcome and can borrow toys free of charge.

Meet your friends, or make new friends and let the children play together while you have some light refreshment such as tea, coffee, or fruit juice with some biscuits or a piece of cake.

There is a craft shop where you can buy coloured paper, paint and glue, etc.

Shepshed Toy Library is a member of The National Association of Toy Libraries: Membership No. 2308
